Your Summer Travel adventure can and should finish with 10 Barrel Brewing.

Just to be clear, we’re talking about the beer, here.

Beer always goes better with something fun, preferably outside.  While we would love to try and inspire a crazy summer road trip, or at least get you to aspire to one. We reconsidered how realistic this could be.

10 Barrel Brewing has five pubs located in Bend (x2), Boise, Denver, and Portland. The plot was a summer road trip between them, but with two legs of the journey covering 800+ miles (Denver-Boise) and 400+ miles (Boise - Portland), we conceded—it just isn’t realistic… or is it?

It would be an amazing trip, and while the miles up upon miles between Pub stops and outdoor adventures would be epic. But even with a case of Clean Line (for after the day’s drive, of course) a 1,400-mile road trip between 10 Barrel Pubs is probably not in the cards for most of us.

Regardless, all good days, especially the hot summer (activity or road trip) ones, should finish with a 10 Barrel, whether you’re at a 10 Barrel Pub or not. So we’ve devised this Summer guide to the pubs and for the tailgate.

10 Barrel Pub, Denver, CO

2620 Walnut St Denver, CO 80205

Pre-Pub Activity:

Kayak or Sup or just hang out and watch at Confluence Whitewater Park, 2 miles from the Pub. This is a man-made kayak and SUP park that attracts first-time tubers to full-time paddlesport enthusiasts. If you’re just visiting you can rent a boat or Sup at Confluence Kayaks.

At the pub:

Anything on the menu is amazing with one of 10 Barrel's Chef Kiel Ard, who has appeared on Guys Grocery Games twice and won once ! Pair 10 Barrel’s Bison Burger (locally sourced from Rock River Ranch) with a Hippie Dust West Coast IPA, from Brewmaster Kay Witkiewicz.

After paddle, no Pub, tailgate alternative:

You’re river surfing so Profuse Juice Hazy IPA just makes sense.

At the Pub: Pro tip, sit on the roof and have Pan-seared salmon. We’re getting close to the Mothership, too, so it’s time to get crazy… refreshed. Try the Mezcal Paloma Sour, which was brewed onsite by 10 Barrel brewmaster Whitney Burnside, of recent Drag Brunch beer brewing fame.

12oz Can Pilsner 10 Barrel Brewing
Cucumber Crush Sour 10 Barrel Brewing

After gravel, or groad, tailgate alt: Pilsner or Cucumber Crush Sour.

At the Pub:

You’re in 10 Barrel brewmaster Toyna Cornett’s world now. Try and get your hands on a Money Cat. This is an ultra-exclusive pale lager that just won gold at the Oregon Beer Awards and is surely to soon be of beer lore.  To eat? Get a Jaca pie and we guarantee you’ll call it—good.
