New FreeFloat Suspension System and BioSync technology are the future of ventilated suspension systems from Gregory.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (July 10, 2018) – For more than 40 years, Gregory Packs has led its category with backpack suspension that makes outdoor adventures more comfortable and enjoyable. That continues in Spring 2019, as Gregory introduces the next generation of suspension technology with the new FreeFloat, VersaFit and BioSync Systems.

All three systems represent an evolution in pack comfort and fit, as well as Gregory’s ongoing commitment to offering the best experience possible on the trail. For users who don’t want to dig into the tech, that simply means they can focus on their experience outside, because they wont even notice their backpack.

Free Float Suspension

Featured in the men’s Zulu and women’s specific Jade, the FreeFloat Suspension System is a brand new approach to managing loads and creating a comfortable carry. The system uses proprietary free-floating flex panels (located on the lower backpanel, adjacent to the waist belt) that allow the hipbelt to pivot and flex with the natural movements of your body – creating a floating sensation on the trail. The customizable suspension system pairs the FreeFloat technology with an open-air, ventilated backpanel, adjustable torso length, and 3D Comfort Cradle Hipbelt that conforms to a user’s hips for a hot-spot free carry. The pack has already been named a “revolution” in pack comfort by an independent panel of expert judges who awarded the Jade 53 a 2018 OutDoor Industry Award. The prestigious award, given at the international OutDoor trade fair in Germany, recognizes standout product innovation and design in the outdoor space. The packs debut spring 2019 and will be available in five capacities ranging from 28-to-65-liters.

Best-in-class packs for young adults

For growing hikers and overnight novices, Gregory is updating the current Wander for young-adults, and introducing a new pack for youth, the Icarus. Gregory believes that young adults benefit from the same attention to detail, fit and performance as adults, which is why it is introducing both packs with the updated, easy-to-fit Versa Fit Suspension System and Active Wrap Hipbelt. The adjustable, breathable suspension system and wrap-around hipbelt offers incredible comfort, and works with the contoured design of the pack to keep it close to the body for a lighter, more agile carry.

Fast and light with BioSync

For done-in-a-day fast-hikers, the Miwok and women’s Maya are being re-introduced to the line with an updated, more comfortable suspension system; sleek, wraparound body design; and more durable fabrics. The adjustable BioSync Suspension System with stretch-mesh “tendons” (shoulder harness and hipbelt) wrap around your body and flex/adapt to every movement. Combined with an adjustable torso, AirWave backpanel and moisture-wicking harness, the Miwok and Maya offer the perfect fit to help take your time on the trail to the next level.

Game for anything, everyday

Gregory is also introducing a new collection of simplified, versatile daypacks for everyday adventures – national park visits, riding around town running errands and post-work hikes. The Nano Collection features everything you need and nothing you don’t – a ventilated, moisture-wicking backpanel; three-sizes (20, 18 and 16-liters); a dedicated hydration sleeve that doubles as a laptop/tablet sleeve; front stretch mesh pocket (20-liter only); and a front organization pocket for essentials.

The full collection will be available spring 2019 and will debut at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market in Denver, Colorado, July 23-26 (booth 36081).
