Gina Carrasco-Songer

Operations Assistant

Gina is originally from North Carolina, where she fell in love with the outdoors in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She attended the University of North Carolina Asheville, where she studied Sociology and Economics. Gina immersed herself in backpacking, climbing and mountain biking while guiding for UNCA’s Outdoor program.

Gina moved to Durango in 2015, got a job and a full suspension bike at a local bike shop, and has been hooked on the West ever since. After the seasonal tango got old, Gina entered the nonprofit sector and developed her natural talent for organization and operations. She continued to keep an eye out for a job that melded her two passions - the outdoors and social justice. Enter, Verde. Gina started with Verde in July 2022 and is thrilled to be a part of the team.

Gina loves traveling and has spent long periods of time in New Zealand, South East Asia, and Central America. When she’s not planning her next trip, Gina can be found riding bikes, skiing, galavanting with friends, and reveling in the magic of the desert southwest.
