Verde’s office in Louisville, Kentucky was started by our managing director and partner Julie Evans. Julie joined Verde when she was living in Durango in 2004. After several years, Julie and her husband relocated to Louisville to be closer to family.

Despite living away from the mountains, Julie was able to see her hometown through a new lens after she moved back. Louisville has an engaged and tight-knit cycling community, and in 2013, was the host of the Cyclocross World Championships, which marked the first time that the world championship event was hosted outside of Europe.

Below the city are more cycling options in the Mega Underground Bike Park, which offers more than 320,000 square feet of trails, including jump lines, pump tracks, singletrack, and much more, all in a former limestone cavern 100 feet sub-surface. The only underground bike park in the world, this hidden gem stays at a  comfortable temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit year-round.

World-class rocking climbing is two hours away from Louisville at the Red River Gorge in Eastern Kentucky. The Red boasts over 1,600 routes, which makes it a destination for climbers across the globe. Along with world renowned climbing, Red River Gorge is also known for ziplining, hiking, cave kayaking, and the Daniel Boone National Forest

Another popular attraction is the Kentucky Bourbon Trail,  home to 18 bourbon distilleries. Locals and tourists alike can purchase a “bourbon passport” and receive a stamp after visiting each distillery across the state. The Bourbon Trail offers a cultural Kentucky experience that is guaranteed to impress.

Louisville also is home to Churchill Downs, the legendary racetrack most famous for hosting the Kentucky Derby, the longest-running sporting event in the U.S. Its rich traditions – sipping a mint julep, donning a beautiful hat, and joining fellow race fans in singing “My Old Kentucky Home” – transcend the Kentucky Derby from just a sporting event, making it a celebration of southern culture and an icon of Americana.

Louisville’s central location helps our team easily access our clients in the southeast and east coast like Kitsbow, based in North Carolina, and Under Armour in Baltimore. Louisville also is a quick 2-hour nonstop flight to New York City - a hub for key publications and journalists in the broad market and outdoor spaces. Annual trips to the city allow us to foster relationships with our key journalist contacts and showcase our clients’ products and initiatives for future opportunities like Father’s Day Gift Guides.

Below are some of our service offerings. If you have any questions or are interested in learning more don’t hesitate to contact us.

“Despite being located away from the mountains, Louisville’s central location allows convenient access to Chicago, New York City, Boston and cities throughout the Southeast. And world-class rock climbing at the Red River Gorge is a short two-hour drive!”
