Outdoor Research developed the Essential Face Mask Kit, which is designed around a proprietary and replaceable filter integrated in a form-fitting, fully customizable fabric face mask. Designed with both outdoor activities and everyday use in mind, components of the Essential Face Mask system include: 

• A high-quality made-in the USA filter provides basic bacterial filtration and sub-micron particulate protection, paired with superb breathability.  A 3-pack of filters come with the Essential Face Mask Kit. Refills can be purchased separately in packs of 3 or bulk of 25.

• The mask is treated with HeiQ NPJ03 to provide resistance to microbes and germs, it can be laundered up to 30 times while maintaining 100% effectiveness.

• The mask offers a fully customizable fit. Adjustable ear loops and a nose wire provide comfort with a tight seal.

• The mask is washable, durable, water and stain repellent, and microbe-resistant.

Motive AscentShell™ Jacket

Building on numerous awards for AscentShell™ technology, which offers a far more breathable take on a waterproof fabric, the new Outdoor Research Motive Jacket offers the lightest, most streamlined AscentShell™ piece to date.  Ideal for fast-and-light missions where a low-bulk, minimalist, highly breathable shell is essential, the 10.9-ounce Motive’s sleek, modern style also crosses over cleanly for everyday urban use. Cross-sport functionality is part of the package. Minimalist reflective treatments on the logo and back make it functional for running and training, while a trim hood with a bonded brim and a single-point adjustment work great for the trail or around town but also fits over a low-profile climbing helmet. Lots of fabric stretch and a soft exterior feel - more akin to a softshell than a hardshell - make the Motive an ultra-comfortable layer to wear. Men’s & Women’s Helium Wind Hoodie

Highly weather protective but very breathable, the Helium Wind Hoodie takes the tried-and-true windshell concept and boosts the durability for demanding high-exertion pursuits. Built using a lightweight, minimal and clean silhouette, the Helium Wind Hoodie adds exceptional ruggedness thanks to Pertex Diamond Fuse 30D fabric, which is far more durable than the usual suspects in the windshell category. Every effort has been made to keep this 5.3-ounce windshell nimble, including an extremely low-profile peripheral adjustment in the hood, which uses a side-to-side simple but effective webbing cinch.  

• On the lower body, the women’s Helium Wind Hoodie employs a second stretch-woven fabric around the hips, featuring minimalist pockets for secure storage. This stretch-woven section is attached to the upper jacket via a mesh flange, with the windshell fabric over top and cut slightly roomier, creating a mid-section with 360-degree breathability. Men’s Cirque Lite Pants

Sibling to the Cirque Pants, a durable alpine pant that’s built for cold weather and snow travel, and which has developed a cult-like following over the years, the new Cirque Lite Pants take that tough-as-nails design and create a lighter, more streamlined version for three-season spring to fall use. With a focus on rock and alpine climbing, the Cirque Lite Pants employ a bluesign-approved nylon/spandex 90D stretch softshell fabric that hits the sweet spot for lightweight, durability and breathability. Carbide Jacket and Bibs

Lightweight, low-profile and protective – featuring a super-functional design collaboration with Arcade Belts – the Outdoor Research Carbide Jacket and Bibs offer versatility for both in-bounds skiing and backcountry touring. Helium Down Jacket - durable, ultralight warmth throughout the year

The Helium Down Jacket infuses ultra-durable Pertex Diamond Fuse fabrics into the lightweight puffy category, adding several degrees of burliness along with added weather protection to ultralight, packable warmth. On the hood, shoulder and upper sleeves, Outdoor Research uses Pertex Shield Diamond Fuse, a unique waterproof fabric with diamond-shaped filaments that lock together, offering five times the tear strength of the current fabric used in OR’s Helium shell. The rest of the jacket uses Pertex Diamond Fuse Ripstop, a more breathable fabric that is two times more abrasion resistant than the face fabric used in most down jackets. Also features:

• The interior is filled with premium RDS (Responsible Down Standard) 800+ fill goose down.

MicroGravity Jacket

Further blurring the line between hard shell and soft shell performance, the Outdoor Research MicroGravity Jacket pushes the bar forward in rain shells that offer new levels of breathability paired with superb stretch. In 2020, OR takes the next step forward in this category with the new Helium Rain Jacket and Pants – products that are more durable, lighter weight and more waterproof. They also offer refined fit. • 2.5-layer, 30D ripstop fabric, Pertex Shield Diamond Fuse, which is being launched exclusively in 2020 with Outdoor Research. Pertex Shield Diamond Fuse has five times the tear strength of the current Helium fabric, with a 50 percent higher waterproof rating.
