What’s New?
Rock hop X Danner, club tread, mai tai, and more
10 Barrel continues the ‘Drink Beer Outside’ vibes all year long with a collection of beers (and a cocktail), debuting in the spring of 2022.
10 Barrel partnered with Danner boots to create Rock Hop Cold IPA. A portion of proceeds will go to protect and preserve critical outdoor initiatives in Oregon, with funding going to Trail Keepers of Oregon, a non-profit committed to restoring proper funding and renewing public agency in trails.
Additionally, 10 Barrel adds several other beers to the roster, including a 5% ALC summertime IPA, Club Tread, a Mai Tai infused with Oregon Spirits Distillers rum, as well as a tropical-flavored Hazy IPA aptly named Cloud Mentality.
Rock Hop
10 Barrel and Danner have collaborated to create the latest addition in the #DrinkItForward program, the Rock Hop Cold IPA.
After a full day trekking, side-stepping a rock ledge, or scrambling to the summit, set down your pack and crack one open. Rock Hop is a cold fermented lager with the bold happiness traditionally seen in a West Coast IPA. Azacca, Cashmere, El Dorado, and Idaho 7 hops give notes of fresh pine and orange zest with low bitterness on a soft malt backbone. Lace-up your boots, stash a few cans, and get hiking - beer tastes best at elevation.
Similar to other 10 Barrel give-back beers, a portion of proceeds from Rock Hop and Danner sales will benefit Trail Keepers of Oregon, a non-profit volunteer organization that maintains and preserves Oregon’s hiking and multi-use trails.
Rock Hop combines the soft maltiness of a Helles lager with hop notes of pineapple, lemon, orange, and pine, which are traditionally found in West Coast IPAs - 7.1% Alc. by volume and 45 IBUs
Club Tread
Welcome to the club! lan Larkin set out on a brewing adventure to make a 5% IPA full of hop flavor and bursting with fruit aroma. When the flavor is bumping, your feet will be thumping, so grab some friends, bag that peak, hit the trail, and join Club Tread.
The perfect combination of El Dorado and Strata hops paired with mandarin orange creates an ultra-bright, thirst-quenching beer that is packed with aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, mandarin orange zest, and light oats.
5% Alc. by volume and 45 IBUs
Truly a summertime IPA
Potentially releasing versions with other fruits. Grapefruit, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, and peach will be trialed on the innovation system.
Mai Tai
10 Barrel initiative, Death & Taxes consulted, Jimmy and Benny fine-tuned. This masterpiece was developed to fill the Rum void in the 10 Barrel cocktail portfolio!
Some of us fly west for the winter and visit far off tropical islands with a salty breeze, sun in your face, and crystal clear oceans. What better way to bring a slice of that home every time you visit the liquor store? Our Mai Tai was born and created for the inevitable getaway, even if it's just to a backyard pig roast.
This silky sweet can is bursting with aromatic notes of tropical fruits with the amazing flavors of pineapple, coconut pulp, notes of orange/lime, and aged wood... oh and don't forget the rum that brings the fun!
12.5% Alc. by volume
Fresh juice
Oregon Spirits Distillers (Bend, Oregon) imported Caribbean Rum
First rum cocktail produced by 10 Barrel
Nice ABV to throw you back in that beach chair
Cloud Mentality
Developed by lan Larkin to explore different hop varietals’ impact on flavor and aroma during biotransformation in hazy IPA fermentation.
Cloud Mentality was brewed to project the bold qualities of strata hops, which deliver tropical flavors of mango and pineapple, some citrus, and dank herbal notes of drifting cannabis. With mild bitterness and a medium malt body, this recipe will elevate you to the Cloud Mentality.
7% Alc. by volume and 55 IBUs
Biotransformation is achieved by dry hopping during mid- fermentation, which lends to a less resinous and more fruit-forward flavor and aroma
Oats add to mouthfeel and body without the need to raise the terminal gravity sweetness
The name was a play on "crowd mentality" because of the popularity of hazy IPA
