Ski Boots
SCARPA unveils 4-Quattro collection, the lightest GripWalk hybrid ski boots on market
New boot program from SCARPA pairs top-tier alpine performance
As skiers demand new levels of do-anything performance in their gear, SCARPA, the Asolo, Italy-based manufacturer that has led the way in alpine-touring ski boots for decades, introduces its 4-Quattro family of ski boots, the lightest GripWalk hybrid ski boots on the market.
SCARPA 4-Quattro XT and SL
Combining top-tier alpine performance with high functionality for touring, backcountry travel and walking, the new SCARPA 4-Quattro XT and SL hold appeal for a wide range of people — everyone from expert-level alpine skiers and snow professionals to everyday skiers looking for versatility paired with power, mobility, light weight and security for moving on your feet.
“The 4-Quattro boot is SCARPA’s first line of ski boots fully focused on the alpine-ski world, so we made sure to build a boot that’s performance-oriented, light and technical enough for the best skiers in the world, but one that’s comfortable and versatile for everyday skiers who want a boot that spans a big range of potential uses,” said Massimo Pellizzer, ski boot category manager for SCARPA.
As a category leader in ski boot performance, SCARPA puts decades of experience to work in the 4-Quattro series, and also factored in sustainability with a shell and cuff made from renewable, plant-based sources.
Key to the Quattro’s performance is a lower-volume, performance-minded fit, an over-injected carbon insert for enhanced precision and torsional rigidity, and a low stand height that improves power transmission to skis.
A major differentiator in these boots is the first full-coverage GripWalk sole, which improves traction and security for working snow professionals or anyone who spends a good amount of time walking in their ski boots. The design is compatible with GripWalk-certified downhill or ski-touring bindings.
The Quattro’s Alpine Axial Hybrid construction allows for the precision and energy transmission of a classic overlap ski boot while also adjusting to fit a wide range of foot shapes and allowing easier entry into the boot.
A friction-free magnesium Speed Lock 4 ski/walk mechanism with 61 degrees range of motion is extremely light yet extremely strong, balancing weight with power.
Stock features include a thermoformable Intuition liner and integrated Recco searchability.
The men’s and women’s 4-Quattro XT is made with plant-based Grilamid Bio and offers a flex index of 130 for men and 115 for women, with weights of 1,500 grams (27) and 1,345 grams (25). The XT versions also come with an integrated Booster Strap.
The men’s and women’s 4-Quattro SL is made with plant-based Pebax R-new and offers a flex index of 120 for men and 100 for women, with weights of 1,430 grams (27) and 1290 grams (25).
SCARPA builds on its use of sustainable materials with plant-derived materials in the 4-Quattro family, which it has previously used in other boot programs, including the top-selling Maestrale and Gea. Grilamid Bio and Pebax Rnew are derived from the castor bean plant, which reduces fossil fuel use and emissions in the process of moving from raw to usable material. In addition, castor beans can be grown on arid land where other agriculture typically isn’t possible, so it doesn’t compete with food production and also offers an economic activity in places where other agriculture doesn’t take place.
The boots retail for $799 for the XT, $699 for the SL.
SCARPA F1 GT
SCARPA also introduces the F1 GT, building on its F1 family of ski boots optimized for lightweight backcountry travel. The F1 GT integrates many of the design concepts pioneered by its sibling, the F1 LT, introduced in 2020, but in a design that uses an easy-to-use dual buckle closure system.
The upper cuff is made of Grilamid Fiber Glass LFT and is paired with a single buckle and Velcro strap for outstanding progressive flex.
A Grilamid Fiber Glass LFT lower shell features a full-length Lambda Frame increased torsional rigidity without excess weight.
The bottom buckle integrates SCARPA’s Wave Lite Closure System, a design that uses a Z-cable for a secure fit over the instep without pressure points.
SCARPA’s integrated Overlap Shield Tech gaiter allows for easy entry and protection from the elements, and a stock thermoformable Intuition liner provides outstanding fit and warmth.
With a 72-degree range of motion, a friction-free ski/walk mechanism, a 90 flex index and weight of 1,165 grams (size 27), the F1 GT is a superb combination of comfort and touring efficiency in an ultralight package.
The F1 GT retails for $799.
Run
Golden Gate GTX, Ribelle Run Kalibra G add to SCARPA options for all-conditions runners
Golden Gate ATR is built for everything from road to groomed trail, while the Kalibra G takes winter running protection to another level.
Over the last few years, SCARPA has made its mark on the running category with award-winning and notable running programs in the Spin, Ribelle and — now — Golden Gate families of running shoes. For Fall 2022, the brand adds new winter and all-conditions running shoes to those collections with the Golden Gate ATR GTX and the Ribelle Run Kalibra G, a super-protective trail shoe with SCARPA’s Wrap360 closure system that integrates a BOA closure.
SCARPA Golden Gate ATR GTX
Built for a wide variety of terrain ranging from road to gravel and pathways to groomed trails, the Golden Gate ATR (All-Terrain Running) GTX is SCARPA’s most cushioned running shoe to date, and the new waterproof version employs GORE-TEX Invisible Fit. GORE-TEX Invisible Fit offers waterproof/breathable protection in a way that improves fit and reduces wetting out in the exterior materials of the shoe. The Golden Gate ATR GTX also features an array of new technology to optimize performance. Underfoot, SCARPA’s Adaptive Cushioning System is designed to absorb and return energy efficiently. It uses medium and low densities of EVA in strategically placed locations with a 28/24 stack height to yield a midsole with superior cushioning and excellent energy rebound capabilities. The upper construction is equally unique. Inspired by the structure of suspension bridges like the Golden Gate, SCARPA created EXO construction, which pairs a super-strong but minimal matrix that wraps the foot for support. That is paired with stretch fabric tongue material, and – on the outside – a breathable mesh outer with additional PU supports. A more rounded, open toe box pairs with medium volume for comfort on longer runs. Other details include a Presa outsole with SCARPA’s Super Gum rubber for superb traction both on and off road and an Ortholite footbed with recycled materials for highly breathable, long-lasting cushioning inside.
$179.
SCARPA Ribelle Run Kalibra G
The all-conditions sibling to the Ribelle Run, the Ribelle Run Kalibra G is the perfect choice for seriously gnarly trail conditions. The upper features an integrated stretch-woven gaiter over the ankle that repels snow and water, ideal for snowy winter runs or putting in some miles on sloppy trails. Inside, SCARPA’s Wrap360 closure system powered by BOA provides an effortless and secure closure on the inner shoe for a confidence inspiring fit. A TPU rand encircles the perimeter of the shoe providing 360 degree support and protection. Underfoot traction stems from SCARPA’s Presa outsole with 5mm deep lugs and H-Compound rubber, formulated for cold and wet conditions. All these features align to provide the ultimate shoe when maximum foul-weather protection is crucial.
$239.
SCARPA Ribelle Run
Featuring an extremely durable upper paired with a versatile sticky sole, the Ribelle Run — new in late 2021 — is a technical running shoe with the durability and chops for navigating rugged, alpine terrain. The build starts with synthetic ripstop mesh upper reinforced with welded PU for extra abrasion resistance. Adding further to the upper, a climbing-inspired, full-perimeter TPU rand provides more structure and stability by providing a stout connection between the upper and the midsole, while also adding a higher level of foot protection. Added precision stems from a medium width paired with slightly lower volume, allowing secure navigation of technical trails. Precision fit is further enhanced by SCARPA’s Sock-Fit Slip On construction – the ankle collar is integrated with the tongue using a stretch fabric, which reduces bulk and seals out trail debris. A quick-cinch lacing system adds a fast and secure closure. Underfoot, a medium-density EVA midsole pairs with SCARPA’s SuperGum rubber sole, providing outstanding traction and friction. It’s also more durable than comparable rubber. A 24.5/20.5mm stack height provides a versatile platform, while thoughtful use of materials has this shoe weighing in at just 300 grams (men’s 42).
$139.
SCARPA Spin Infinity
Building on its award-winning Spin platform of running shoes, the Spin Infinity — new in 2021 — unveils the most cushioned trail-running shoe in the Spin family. The Spin Infinity excels at long distances and ultra racing. It offers exceptional lateral stability thanks to SCARPA’s Foot Stabilizer Control (FSC) frame, a firmer layer of EVA that encircles the perimeter of the midsole and also spans the arch area, providing lightweight stability and torsion control. With a highly cushioned 26/22mm stack height, the dual-density EVA midsole features a lower density base that provides exceptional impact absorption. This 4mm drop encourages an efficient stride, further enhancing the Spin Infinity’s long-distance capabilities. A Vibram® Velox Cross sole uses Megagrip rubber and 4mm lugs to optimize traction and grip. On the upper, a mesh and thermally welded PU upper with SCARPA’s Sock-Fit construction is light and breathable but still provides foot-wrapping support and a secure fit. This combination of upper and outsole package results in the perfect blend of weight savings, cushioning, support and traction – yielding a shoe that clocks in at a minimal 305 grams (men’s 42). A more rounded toe box and a higher-volume fit provides comfort for longer mileage and works for a variety of foot shapes.

Trail & Mountain
SCARPA F22 Trail, Mountain collections showcase the latest in cold-weather and hybrid technology
Phantom 6000 leads the way in technical performance for cold-weather alpinism; Rush Polar offers warmth for all-around outdoor recreation.
Recreation in mountainous places takes a lot of forms, and for Fall 2022 SCARPA introduces three new shoes and boots in its Mountain and Trail collections that provide industry leading technical performance, in two cases paired with ultimate warmth for different types of adventurers.
SCARPA Phantom 6000
For serious alpinism in the greater ranges of the world, climbers need footwear that’s able to tackle technical terrain at the highest levels of performance. What works most effectively for scaling ice, rock and snow, however, is the exact opposite of what works for walking. And in alpinism, it turns out that — along with climbing — there’s a lot of walking to get to and from the climb. How then to make a boot excel across all those disciplines, while also keeping your feet warm in some of the world’s coldest places? SCARPA addresses all of those concerns with its new Phantom 6000 — the warmest, lightest, highest performing technical boot on the market. Fourteen individual layers of technology, including some of the world’s most sophisticated materials — woven sock-like insulation in the inner boot, a TPU-reinforced exoskeleton on the shell boot, and aerogel insulation and carbon fiber — are combined to create the Phantom 6000. These materials are used in combination with an advanced design that places the exact right components in the exact right place — creating a stiff, precise platform for climbing, but one that has superb flexibility in the ankle area along with an innovative rockered sole so that it also walks well. The Phantom 6000 also leads the category in warmth (verified by independent testing). It accomplishes this, in part, by reducing insulation in the ankle area, a place where it’s not needed, which improves mobility, while increasing insulation in the lower part of the boot, where most heat is proven to escape. Along with its overall groundbreaking design, the Phantom 6000 also keeps sustainability at the forefront with the use of recycled, plant based and bluesign certified materials. In addition, it includes two first-to-market technologies, Vibram’s Durastep rubber, a new compound that yields greater grip and durability in winter conditions, and an integrated Recco reflector, the first in a boot made for alpine climbing.
$1,049.
SCARPA Rush Polar GTX
For adventurers who want an all-around performer in winter conditions, the insulated Rush Polar GTX delivers performance for winter hiking, snowshoeing or simply running errands around town when you want footwear with secure grip in cold, icy conditions. A taller ankle collar with a comfortable stretch fabric collar, a suede upper backed by GORE-TEX Insulated Comfort technology and Primaloft Gold Eco insulation ensure protection and warmth for anything winter throws out. Underfoot support, protection and traction come courtesy of the exclusive SCARPA Presa outsole with Interactive Kinetic System (IKS) Technology. The IKS system features impact-absorbing internal domes placed in key ground contact areas that function as mechanical shock absorbers, while SCARPA’s H-compound rubber provides secure grip at low temperatures. In the midsole, SCARPA’s Dynamic Stabilizer Torsion frame supports the arch and wraps the heel on both sides, providing superb rearfoot stability and torsion control.
$299.
SCARPA Rapid Mid GTX
Adding increased ankle support to the best all-around mountain shoe SCARPA makes, the new Rapid Mid GTX offers nearly unlimited possibilities and all-conditions versatility. This hybrid shoe is equally adept at ticking off trail miles, boulder hopping and scrambling moderate slabs. The all-synthetic upper is lightweight, protective, and is backed by a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit lining for waterproof protection. GORE-TEX Invisible Fit offers waterproof/breathable protection in a way that improves fit and reduces wetting out in the exterior materials of the shoe. That pairs with a stretch fabric tongue, which snugly wraps the midfoot for a precise fit with reduced bulk. The dual-density EVA midsole delivers a ride more akin to a trail running shoe, but SCARPA has added a TPU arch insert for torsion control and a Dynamic Protection System insert in the forefoot for increased protection, propulsion and edging capability. The Vibram outsole features high-friction Megagrip rubber, and an edging zone under the big toe for unbeatable friction and traction. Snow underfoot? Sloppy trails? No problem — the Rapid Mid GTX is the perfect choice for moving fast over mixed mountain terrain in variable conditions.
$199.
SCARPA Ribelle Lite HD
Setting the bar for lightweight mountain footwear, the SCARPA Ribelle Lite HD combines the efficiency and agility of the Dynamic Tech Roll (DTS) System with a lighter, more flexible upper than its cousin, the Ribelle HD. The DTS system features an enhanced rocker profile under the ball of the foot that significantly increases walking efficiency, resulting in substantial energy savings during long days in the mountains. The driving concept for the Ribelle family was pairing the protection of a boot with the nimbleness of a trail runner. Its 2D polyurethane midsole is 20 percent lighter than regular PU but provides outstanding shock absorption. Paired with a Vibram sole, this design inspires confidence when tackling technical ground. The Microtech all-synthetic upper is backed by an HDry waterproof breathable membrane, providing protection and support for heavier loads in rugged mountain terrain. This is an outstanding boot that crosses over from mountaineering to rugged backpacking and off-trail travel. 655 grams (men’s 42) and 565 grams (women’s 38).
$359.
Climbing
For 2022, SCARPA Offers Next-Generation Versions of Top-Performing Rock-Climbing Shoes
Along with performance updates to the Mago, Instinct slipper and Vapor lace, SCARPA introduces a modern take on an all-around climbing shoe.
Whether it’s a precision tool designed for a specific climb or a performance all-arounder that excels across different disciplines, SCARPA’s collection of 35 rock-climbing shoes offers the right tool for the right job. For 2022, SCARPA unveils next-generation evolutions of well-loved high-performers like the Mago, Instinct slipper and Vapor lace, along with visionary products like the new Quantix FX, a complete reinvention on how to build a climbing shoe that does it all.
SCARPA Instinct S
The most flexible model in the SCARPA Instinct family, the new Instinct S is designed specifically for steep sport climbing, bouldering, and training.
SCARPA’s new CTS (Combined Tension System) rand technology offers the big toe precision you expect from the Instinct family, thanks to a frame of firm Ilga rubber that wraps up and over the inside of the foot for support, channeling power to the toe area while preventing stretch. This concept results in a high-performing and extremely sensitive shoe that’s totally unique in the market.
The design also incorporates the elasticated fit and tension of M50 rubber across the top of the foot, providing maximum toe-hooking capabilities and increased sensitivity. A full microfiber upper utilizes SCARPA’s REB (Reinforced Elastic Band) technology to ensure a snug, secure fit across the instep for the life of the shoe while the heel features both M50 and XS Grip2 rubber for robust heel hooking. Vibram® XS Grip 2 rubber on the sole makes these shoes stick like glue. Inside, an Alcantara toe pocket provides comfort and molds to fit the climber with use. 240 grams (size 41).
$189.
SCARPA Vapor
The updated Vapor is a technical lace-up that provides serious stability and performance. Its supportive midsole and full-length Vibram XS Edge feel right at home on vertical to off-vertical face climbing and crack climbing. A full-length lace to toe closure system offers high adjustability and a precision fit. The Vapor’s new all-leather upper features dual-layer welded TPU overlays to minimize stitching, increase comfort, eliminate hotspots and protect from abrasion. A unique dual-density rubber toe patch combines two different rubber densities into a single piece providing both stiffness and stickiness right where it’s needed. SCARPA’s PAF (Pressure Absorbing Fit) heel system alleviates pressure off the achilles tendon while standing on dime-sized edges. On the edges of the heel, grading the thinness of the materials creates a soft, supple heel pocket. Inside, an all-leather footbed molds over time. 230 grams (size 40). Men’s and women’s.
$185.
SCARPA Quantix SF
The new Quantix SF presents climbing in a new way. SCARPA’s innovative Single Frame technology holds the foot from below like a hand providing even pressure around the entire foot.
The Single Frame is paired with a ¾ length midsole and tapered full-length XS Grip2 outsole providing excellent underfoot support, high friction, and edging capabilities. The unique “finger” pattern along the outside of the rand allows for a natural yet dynamic flex without losing precision. The Quantix SF has a neutral shape with a subtle downturned and a medium to high-angled toe box for an excellent combination of comfort and performance. SCARPA’s PAF (Pressure Absorbing Fit) heel system alleviates pressure off the achilles tendon. The Quantix SF is a cutting-edge model which provides high performance across all styles of climbing.
It’s SCARPA’s best shoe to date for climbers looking for a true combination of comfort, performance, and versatility for different types of climbing. 235 grams (size 40.5).
$179.
SCARPA Mago
The Mago dominates small footholds like no other climbing shoe on the market. New innovative materials and further refined technologies perfect this specialized performance shoe. The highly asymmetric and downturned shape, in combination with a 3D molded TPS toe insert and X-Tension active rubber rand, work in unison giving climbers arch support, maximum toe power and precision without sacrificing underfoot sensitivity. A unique multi-panel upper features an extended Alcantara toe pocket, providing comfort and a custom molded fit with use. Strategically placed panels of perforated microsuede provide a glove like fit. In the back of the shoe, SCARPA uses its Pressure Absorbing Fit (PAF) heel, which places a softer material between the rands on the achilles area, retaining performance while increasing comfort by dispersing pressure. That is paired with a soft spine for structure and a design that minimizes rubber on the outside of the heel for an adaptable fit and excellent hooking ability. The 210-gram Mago is the most supportive lace-up in SCARPA’s specialized category and truly excels on micro edges on steep demanding routes. 210 grams (size 41). $199.
